The story behind this painting:

In the flowering season I am always on the lookout for the brightly colored poppies in the green roadsides. These flowers are able to bloom in the most impossible places and that is what makes them so special. This was the inspiration for one of my first real flower paintings. This painting arose from my need to study the poppies more closely and enlarge and abstract them. An ode to the poppy!
