The story
The clients of this painting were renovating their home, and to top it all off, they were looking for a stunning painting to brighten up their living room. They had a strong desire for large-format peonies, preferably in bright dark pink and purple hues.
I started working on a composition and quickly arrived at this arrangement, in which peonies in various stages of bloom form a beautiful whole. From a peony still in full bud to one whose leaves are already slowly beginning to senesce. It’s all in this painting. The dark blue background, gold accents in the center of the peonies, and the wooden frame complete the look. This painting now hangs in a beautiful spot, where the peonies can truly shine!
